Leiana S. A. Naholowaʻa: Editor-In-Chief
Kamalani Moufa: Lead Editor
Kamalani Moufa is a 3rd year undergraduate student majoring in Pacific Island Studies & English. She has been working at Hawaii Review since Spring 2025, initially working as the assistant manager. She is currently the Lead eEitor for the 97th issue that is currently under production. The 97th issue is curated towards the 21st-century Pasefika experience, hoping to illustrate how modern-day Pacific Islanders navigate through the world holding multiple cultural identities.
She hopes to pave a path for other Pacific Islanders within publishing, writing and creativity, giving them a space to tell their stories and own the narrative.
Valerie Calibuso: Editorial Assistant
Valerie Calibuso is an English major from Maui in her 2nd year of undergraduate. She has been an assistant editor at Hawaiʻi Review since Fall 2025 and looks forward to continuing her work with the journal as she continues her journey at UH Mānoa! In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing poetry, sleeping in, and watching sunsets.
Through Hawaiʻi Review, she aims to uplift and amplify voices throughout the islands by curating a space to be creative and a platform to be heard.
Grace Aguliera: Designer
Grace Aguilera is a Junior Graphic Designer and is working toward admission into the BFA for graphic design. This is currently her first semester working at Hawai’i Review. She is focusing on the cover, back cover and layout of their annual Hawai’i Review Issue 97.
She is committed to implementing elements of contemporary design trends in tandem with themes of the Pasifika experience. She is working to inspire community, and self-identity as we progress forward together.
